For all kinds of crops,
the Lotus rotary tedder with its double hook-shaped tines and rugged build provides the very best in machinery for tedding!
Lotus tedders guarantee an unrivalled output.
Highly effective tedding operations
A short drying period is crucial
to forage quality as well as for grass re-growth. In addition, the risk of bad weather is always imminent. A quick and effective
tedding operation is therefore essential. Good tedding boils down to effective turning of the crop as well as a very airy
'lay' of the crop. Wind is more important for drying than sunlight . In other words: airy and 'rough' tedding
with plenty of air exposure will lead to much quicker drying than a tedding operation resulting in a flat pattern.
Maintaining the nutritional value
In tedding there are two major causes for loss of
nutritional value: loss of crop and contamination. Loss of crop occurs when the forage is being damaged by tines that are
rotating too quickly. With a view to avoiding loss of crop, it is essential that the tedder is operated at the lowest possible
rotor rpm rate. Contamination (a high soil content) is eliminated by the correct working height adjustment, but even more
importantly by combining flexible tines with unrestricted ground contour following.
